Personality –
Alex is an easy going boy who constantly has a song in his head. He’s often found wandering the halls singing to himself when he isn’t immersed in a book about the latest concept he’s obsessing over. A typical Ravenclaw, Alex loves to learn. He’ll discover some random fact about the stars, a type of dog, a plant, anything that strikes him and then read everything he can possibly find on the subject. He’s very friendly, but when he’s nervous will spout off a random fact about something for lack of anything better to say. He’s a sensitive boy who tends to react from his heart rather than his mind. It’s a blessing when it comes to his creative outlets, but a bit of a curse when it comes to interacting with others. Alex wants to see the good in everyone, even when it may not be the wisest decision.

Family Background (if their parents aren't canon characters that we know enough about - just a couple of sentences):
Alex is the only child of Noel Vaisey, former Slytherin, and Catherine Loft, a muggle. They met while Noel was doing a short book tour around France, having written about his experience in the war and passing it off as fiction to muggle publishers. It wasn’t a best seller, but it was enough to allow him to live comfortably. Catherine worked in a bookshop in Versaille and they went on a few dates. Before leaving to return to Marsaille, the two spent the night together. A couple months later, Catherine contacted Noel informing him that she was pregnant. He moved her to Marsaille wanting to try and work things out with her and delighting in the idea of a family. He slowly tried to explain to Catherine that his book wasn’t a work of fiction and at first she delighted in the magic. The few charms Noel used around the house were helpful and at times amazing.

The relationship was a bit rocky given how little they knew of each other but they strove to make it work. It wasn’t until Alex was born and began to show signs of magic that things turned for the worse. Catherine didn’t know how to handle Alex’s bouts of uncontrolled magic. One day during a particularly fierce tantrum, Alex caused several lights in the house to explode. Catherine had been afraid to that point, but decided then that she couldn’t handle it. She left early the next morning with a brief note to Noel, leaving her son behind.

Character History - what happened to your character when they were younger and in the time before the game began? Tell us here:

Despite his parents’ problems, Alex had a happy childhood. His father did all he could to make up for the fact that Catherine had disappeared. They stayed in France with Noel’s parents helping to care for the boy while Noel continued writing. Alex enjoyed staying with his Grandmere Helene and Poppy Alex, whom he was named for. His uncles AJ and Sebastien were still relatively young when Alex came along so he grew up relating to them more as brothers than uncles.

The Vaiseys weren’t rich, but ran a successful bakery in Marsaille which Alex worked in as he grew up. At first he would simply charm the customers in the front and help his Grandmere fill orders. As he grew, he learned how to bake and cook, enjoying the time spent at the older woman’s side. He attended the local boy’s school, St. Michael’s Academy, until he got his letter to go to Hogwarts.

At Hogwarts, Alex flourished. Excited at no longer having to hide his magic from the other children, he threw himself into his classes absorbing all he could. He made some friends along the way and like his father before him, joined his house Quidditch team.

The one place he was truly happy though was in the trees of the courtyard where he would drag his guitar with him up into the branches. It was there that Alex was truly free and would allow himself to express anything and everything he felt. It’s was only in the past year that his father told him about his mother and the reason she left. Despite his best attempts to persuade him otherwise, Alex feels guilty that his mother left. Noel met a woman, Rena, during Alex’s fourth year and remarried that spring. While Alex is fond of his stepmother and how happy his father is, he still wonders about his biological mother and hopes to someday find her.
